OUR SCHOOL
Our History | Our Story
Our School was established in 2022 by Dianne Meli who at the young age of 26 broke barriers in Education when she established the first of its kind Homeschooling in Port Moresby in order to solve the Education crisis facing Schools in Papua New Guinea. From her experiences working in Schools in Port Moresby, she noticed that a lot of Students are not able to recieve the individual teaching support they need in school and at home, and they are leaving Gaps in their Education.
These gaps became more evident during the Covid School suspension in 2021 when a lot of students where returning to school with struggles in their education due to a lack of teaching support.
This problem may also be due to a lot of contributing factors such as:
- overcrowding in School Classrooms (too many students – to one Teacher)
- students who require Individual Teaching support are learning together with other fast learners
- Class schedule /timetable is not convenient for a Student to receive individual Teaching support
- Schools are not providing individual support to students who struggle in Class
- Students are not doing their homework at home/or there is no one at home to help them
- regular Teacher absences (due to late pay/ or no pay) A common problem in public schools
- Student are not attending classes every day (for various reasons) they miss out on lessons
- Students are most of the time left with a Relief Teacher Assistant; not the Class Teacher
- Teachers are not teaching effectively enough (poor teaching application/strategies)
- Teacher Assistants are not working effectively to help students individually in a Classroom
- Due to outstanding School Fee Payment; a Student has been told to stay home and he/or she has missed out on classes when the student resumes
- Due to domestic challenges at home or outside the School; a student may struggle to focus in Class and given school work
Driven by a passion and motivation to establish a School that will provide support for a growing number of students who are struggling in their Education in both the Public and Private Schools, Miss Meli started what is known today as TIPS FOR KIDS.
We are a Private School operating in Port Moresby providing Homeschooling and Individual Tutoring Services to safe Locations and Family Homes in NCD. For Homeschooling, we are now taking Enrollment for Kindergarten - Grade 12 in 2025. The Curriculum we use is called the ACE PACE Curriculum, which is American. For our Tutoring Services, we Tutor students based on their individual needs and subject/topic they are currently struggling in. We don't use a Curriculum for Tutoring of provide PACES in Tutoring.
We also have a Support Service for Parents who would like us to source the ACE PACES for them to help their own children at home at their own convenience.

Even when they were based out at Boera and saw our School on Facebook; they put in much effort. We really appreciate you providing transport for our tutors and letting us come to your lovely home in beautiful Boera. We loved helping your daughter in Grade 6 improve in her reading, use of nouns and adjectives, and getting her answers correct in Multiplication.
HOMESCHOOLING
Homeschooling at your own home
Monday to Friday 8:30 or 9am - 2 or 3pm
Allowing Recess & Lunch Break
We provide Homeschooling for K-12 to safe Locations and Family Homes in Port Moresby by assigning one Teacher to one Family. If you have multiple children enrolled in different Grades; we may assign a Multi-Grade Teacher to your home to teach all of your children.
INDIVIDUAL TUTORING
For Grades : K - 12
Ages : 5-18
Only on Sundays & School Holidays
We provide Individual Tutoring to safe Locations at Family Homes in Port Moresby to help Students who are struggling in certain School Subjects and Topics.
PARENT PACE ORDER SERVICES
We facilitate a Purchase Order Service for ACE PACES Grades K-12 to parents who are homeschooling their own children and desire to use the same Homeschool Curriculum that we use.
